Basic Division Properties are :
1. Property : Division By One
- If a number is divided by 1 the result is always the number itself.
- A / 1 = A or 5 / 1 = 5
2. Property : Division By Zero
- When any number is divided by 0 the answer is not defined.
- A / 0 = not defined or 5 / 0 = not defined
3. Property : Division By Itself
- If a number is divided by itself, the answer is always 1.
- A / A = 1 or 5 / 5 = 1
4. Property : Division By 10
- If any number is divided by 10, then always the remainder will be the digit at the ones place in the dividend.
- The quotient will be the remaining digits of the dividend.
- For example, 532 / 10 then Q = 53 and R = 2.
5. Property : Division By 100
- If any number is divided by 100, then always the remainder will be the digits at the ones and tens places in the dividend.
- The quotient will be the remaining digits on the left in the dividend.
- For example, 5325 / 100 then Q = 53 and R = 25.
